No interest charged. Loan is deferred for 10 years. If you remain in the home for 10 years, the loan is forgiven.

  • Income limits: Household income must be less than 80% of Area Median Income.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a home within the City of Akron limits. City works with nonprofit housing development corporations to provide new and rehabilitated housing.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes
