Up to 8,500 in gap subsidy per home, applied to lower the purchase price
Subsidy is applied as a gap to lower the home's sale price. Deed restrictions require owner occupancy and resale to another buyer at or below 80% AMI for a minimum of 15 years.
Eligibility
- Income limits: At or below 80% Area Median Income (per Metropolitan Council 2023 affordability limits, equivalent to a mortgage no larger than 4,700).
- Purchase price limit: $304,700
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: 27 newly constructed single-family and two-family homes on infill lots throughout Bloomington.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Bloomington Affordable Homeownership Program (BAHP)
Step 1: Watch the Let's Talk Bloomington program page for available homes. Buyers complete homebuyer education and qualify with a participating lender. First homes expected to be available in 2026 with all 27 units completed by late 2027 or early 2028.
