    Property must be located within Grand Forks's designated Renaissance Zone. For rehabilitation/remodel of a primary residence, improvement costs must equal at least 20% of the total taxable building value.

How to Apply for Grand Forks Renaissance Zone Tax Exemption

Step 1: Renaissance Zone projects must be approved by the City of Grand Forks AND the State of North Dakota BEFORE any project work begins (rehab/new construction) or before a sale closes (purchase). Apply through the Grand Forks Community Development office at 701-746-2545.
