How to Apply for Plymouth First-Time Homebuyer Program

Step 1: Confirm income at or below 80% AMI and first-time-buyer status.

Step 2: Complete a HUD-approved homebuyer education course.

Step 3: Contact the Plymouth HRA at 763-509-5410 or housing@plymouthmn.gov to request a program packet and the list of participating lenders.

Step 4: Get pre-approved with a participating lender; the loan can fund up to 50% of the required down payment (max $5,000), 100% of eligible closing costs (max $7,500), and up to 15% of the purchase price toward principal reduction (max $30,000), capped at $25,000 total per the standard published program.

Step 5: Identify a property within Plymouth city limits and complete the application before closing.
