Buyer pays an affordable first mortgage. Habitat may also provide a subordinate deferred mortgage that fills the affordability gap; balance is due on sale or refinance.
Eligibility
- Income limits: At or below 80% Area Median Income for Pennington County.
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Serves Bennett, Butte, Custer, Fall River, Jackson, Lawrence, Meade, Oglala Lakota, and Pennington counties in western South Dakota. Buyer must live or work in the service area.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program
Step 1: Apply through Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity. Complete financial and homebuyer education and contribute volunteer sweat-equity hours on Habitat job sites. Selected applicants close on a Habitat-built or rehabbed home.
