How to Apply for Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program
Step 1: Call Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity at 319-366-4485 or visit cedarvalleyhabitat.org to request an application packet. Attend a mandatory Habitat orientation session. Submit the application with household income documentation, current housing conditions, and willingness-to-partner statement. Complete a home visit interview with Habitat staff and volunteers. If approved, begin sweat-equity hours and homebuyer education. Work with Habitat to identify your home (either newly built or rehabilitated). Close on the zero-interest mortgage with Habitat.
Notes
Applicants must complete 250 to 500 hours of sweat-equity labor on their home or other Habitat projects. Must demonstrate need for housing, ability to pay the mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat. Contact: 319-366-4485.
