City of Dayton Down Payment Assistance Program
How much assistance
Up to 10% of the purchase price toward down payment and closing costs (Deferred Loan)
Zero-interest deferred second mortgage. Loan does not need to be repaid unless the property is sold, refinanced, ownership is transferred, the owner vacates, or it becomes a rental/investment property. Must remain primary residence for at least 5 years.

- Income limits: Total household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income
- Purchase price limit: $195,000
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase within the City of Dayton limits
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for City of Dayton Down Payment Assistance Program
Step 1: Contact the HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton at 937-853-1600. Complete a Homebuyer Class and meet with a Homeownership Advisor. Contribute a minimum of $500 of your own funds to close. Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Notes
Purchase price limit is $105,000 for pre-existing homes and $195,000 for new construction. Administered through partnership between City of Dayton and HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton (CountyCorp).
