How to Apply for City of East Lansing Down Payment Assistance
Step 1: Contact Capital Area Housing Partnership (CAHP) at 517-332-4663 or info@capitalareahousing.org. You can also contact the City of East Lansing Community and Economic Development Specialist Matt Apostle at 517-319-6859 or grants@cityofeastlansing.com. Buyer's personal investment must equal at least 1% of purchase price. Completion of CAHP Home Buyer Education course is required prior to closing.

Funds can be used for down payment as required by the first mortgage lender or to reduce the first mortgage as needed for loan qualification. Program is CDBG-funded and limited to select neighborhoods within East Lansing city limits.
