Eligibility
- Income limits: Must be a low-income household as defined by HUD guidelines.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home within the past 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Home must be purchased in Cumberland County, outside the City limits of Fayetteville. Property must be used as principal residence.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Cumberland County Down Payment and GAP Assistance Program
Step 1: Contact Kingdom CDC at 910-606-3388 to sign up for the Home-buyer Workshop. Complete the workshop and obtain your certificate. Contact a local lender to determine mortgage qualification. Apply through Cumberland County Community Development.
Notes
This program is for homes purchased in Cumberland County OUTSIDE Fayetteville city limits. Buyers within Fayetteville city limits should apply to the Homebuying HERO Program instead.
