How to Apply for Detroit Down Payment Assistance Program
Complete a HUD-approved Homebuyer Education course. Get pre-qualified by a lender. Find a home and get a signed purchase agreement. Apply online at detroitmi.gov/DPA. Must contribute a minimum of $1,000 toward the purchase. Must have lived in the City of Detroit for the last 12 months, or prove you lost a home to property tax foreclosure within Detroit between 2010 and 2016.
