Up to 8 years of property tax exemption for residential properties in the Renaissance Zone
Exemption applies for up to 8 taxable years. Properties may become eligible for further incentives after 30 years.
Eligibility
- Income limits: No income limits.
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be located within Dickinson's designated Renaissance Zone. Owner must invest at least 20% of the property's full and true value in qualifying improvements. For purchase exemptions, the property must require rehabilitation as determined by the City, and the new owner must commit to improving the property.
- Homebuyer education required: No
How to Apply for Dickinson Renaissance Zone Residential Tax Exemption
Step 1: Renaissance Zone projects must be approved by the City of Dickinson AND the State of North Dakota BEFORE the qualifying activity (purchase or rehabilitation) takes place.
