  • Geographic restrictions: Must have lived in La Crosse, Trempealeau, Vernon, Monroe, or Houston County for at least one year before applying.

Step 1: Contact Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region at (608) 785-2373. Applicants must demonstrate need for adequate housing, ability to repay the Habitat mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat through sweat equity.

Notes

Habitat builds and rehabilitates homes in partnership with income-qualified families. Families contribute sweat equity by helping build their own home. Cannot have had a property foreclosed in the year before applying. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
