- Geographic restrictions: Available in 16 northeastern South Dakota counties served by HAPI: Beadle, Campbell, Day, Edmunds, Faulk, Hand, Hughes, Hyde, Marshall, McPherson, Potter, Roberts, Spink, Stanley, Sully, and Walworth. Not available in Brown County (where HAPI offers a $3,500 non-forgivable loan instead).

Step 1: Contact HAPI at (605) 225-4274 or (888) 224-4274. Complete the no-cost HAPI Homebuyer Education course before closing. Submit application with mortgage pre-approval and education completion certificate.
