Up to $30,000 for households at or below 60% AMI; up to $20,000 for households at 61-80% AMI
Zero-percent interest deferred mortgage. 15-year forgivable term for households at or below 60% AMI; 10-year forgivable term for households at 61-80% AMI.
Eligibility
- Income limits: At or below 80% of HUD Minneapolis/St. Paul AMI (tiered: 60% AMI tier and 61-80% AMI tier)
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Borrower must not have had an ownership interest in another property for the last 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be located in Hennepin County (excludes certain cities that run their own programs).
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Hennepin County HRA Homebuyer Assistance Program
Step 1: Funding is currently exhausted and the countywide program is paused until summer 2026 per Hennepin County. Contact NeighborWorks Home Partners at 651-292-8710 or hello@nwhomepartners.org to be added to the interest list. Borrowers must complete an approved homebuyer education course (such as Home Stretch or Framework) and work with a participating lender.
