Up to $30,000 for households at or below 60% AMI; up to $20,000 for households at 61-80% AMI
Zero-percent interest deferred mortgage. 15-year forgivable term for households at or below 60% AMI; 10-year forgivable term for households at 61-80% AMI.
Eligibility
- Income limits: At or below 80% of HUD Minneapolis/St. Paul AMI (tiered: 60% AMI tier and 61-80% AMI tier)
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Borrower must not have had an ownership interest in another property for the last 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be located in Hennepin County (excludes certain cities that run their own programs).
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Hennepin County HRA Homebuyer Assistance Program
Funding is currently exhausted and the countywide program is paused until summer 2026 per Hennepin County. Contact NeighborWorks Home Partners at 651-292-8710 or hello@nwhomepartners.org to be added to the interest list. Borrowers must complete an approved homebuyer education course (such as Home Stretch or Framework) and work with a participating lender.
