How to Apply for HOME Consortium Down Payment Assistance (Washington County)
Step 1: Contact the Washington County Community Development Department to confirm current funding availability. Complete the required HOME Consortium homebuyer counseling program. Work with a participating lender to apply for the DPA loan alongside your mortgage. The home must pass a HOME Consortium code requirements inspection before closing.

Part of the four-county HOME Consortium (Jefferson, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha). DPA can be combined with other down payment assistance programs including state, Federal Home Loan Bank, or HUD programs. Housing debt-to-income ratio minimum 18%, total DTI maximum 50%. Purchase price must be below HUD limits for the county.
