- Income limits: At or below 80% of HUD median income guidelines (Columbus MSA)
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer or not have owned a home in the past 3 years
- Geographic restrictions: Properties must be in Franklin County, OUTSIDE the City of Columbus jurisdiction
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Homeport Down Payment Assistance Program
Step 1: Contact Homeport at 614-221-8889 ext 148 or dpa@homeportohio.org. You must complete HUD-certified housing counseling through Homeport or another HUD-approved agency and have a certificate at the time of application. A minimum of $500 in personal funds is required as an equity contribution.
