How to Apply for Lewiston HOME Homebuyer Assistance Program

Step 1: Contact the City of Lewiston Economic and Community Development office. Contribute $1,000 toward your down payment and the city provides a 5:1 match of $5,000 as a grant. Must have at least a 3% down payment and complete 10 hours of homebuyer education. Email ECDevelopment@lewistonmaine.gov for details.

Funded through the Auburn-Lewiston HOME Consortium. One $5,000 grant per household. Extremely low-income households may qualify for an $8,000 forgivable loan instead of $2,000.
