20% forgiven each year over 5 years of meeting eligibility requirements. 100% of the loan and all accrued interest forgiven at the end of the five-year period.

How to Apply for LiveYpsi EMU Employee Homebuyer Assistance Program
Step 1: Must be a full-time employee of Eastern Michigan University or the EMU Foundation. Contact EMU for application details. Eligible expenses include down payment, moving expenses, and home renovations.

Created in 2012. Funded by EMU and Washtenaw County with seed funding from DTE Foundation. Homes in neighborhoods with less stability receive larger loans ($10,000) to incentivize investment. Program expanded in 2016 to include broader Ypsilanti Township geography. Only available to EMU/EMU Foundation employees.
