Eligibility

  • Income limits:
    At or below 80% of median income for Sedgwick County.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes
    Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions:
    Available only in seven Local Investment Areas: Northcentral, Northeast, Delano, Orchard Breeze, Hilltop, Planeview, and Southcentral Wichita.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Mennonite Housing Homeownership Project

Step 1: Contact Mennonite Housing at 316-942-4848 and ask for Julie Smith, Director of Neighborhood Homes. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicant must complete the Home Ownership Training Class before closing and pay minimum $1,000 into the purchase contract (loan application fees, earnest money, inspection fees, and prepaid costs may count).
