Voucher subsidy continues for up to 15 years (or 30 years for elderly/disabled families) provided eligibility is maintained.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Must meet HCV program income limits for Douglas County (very low income, generally 50% AMI or less).
- First-time buyer required: Yes — First-time homebuyer required (defined by HUD HCV Homeownership rules).
- Geographic restrictions: Must currently be enrolled in OHA's Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. Property must be in OHA service area.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Omaha Housing Authority Bridges to Homeownership (HCV Homeownership Program)
Step 1: Available only to current OHA Housing Choice Voucher participants. Email fss@ohauthority.org to begin. Buyers must complete required HUD homeownership counseling and meet OHA's minimum employment and income requirements.
