PORCH acquires and rehabilitates homes in South Cape Girardeau and makes them available to approved first-time homebuyers. The program's support is delivered through below-market-priced rehabbed homes, financial education, and the Homeowner Mentorship Program rather than a traditional DPA second mortgage. Eligibility
- Income limits: Not published. Priority is typically given to lower-income first-time buyers. Confirm current income guidelines with PORCH.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — First-time homebuyer per HUD definition (has not owned a principal residence during the three-year period immediately preceding the purchase).
- Geographic restrictions: Home must be located within the South Cape Girardeau neighborhood boundary as defined by PORCH. Applicants must be PORCH-board approved. This is a targeted neighborhood revitalization program — not a city-wide DPA.

How to Apply for PORCH Initiative First-Time Homebuyer Program (South Cape)
