Eligibility

  • Income limits: Must be within HUD income guidelines for the county of purchase
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a principal interest in a residence in the past 3 years. Veterans and buyers in Target Areas are exempt from the first-time buyer requirement.
  • Geographic restrictions: Available to qualified Alabama residents. Must use RCLF in-house mortgage team.

How to Apply for RCLF Easy8 Down Payment Assistance Program

Step 1: Contact the Renaissance Community Loan Fund mortgage team to discuss eligibility and begin the application process. You must use RCLF's in-house mortgage team to qualify for the Easy8 down payment assistance.

Notes

RCLF is a certified CDFI serving Alabama and Mississippi. The Easy8 program pairs $8,000 in DPA with a competitive-rate mortgage originated by RCLF. Program launched in 2026.
