Since 1998 SCCHC has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa to produce Community Land Trust homes in Ames. Accepts Section 8 renters. The CLT model itself subsidizes homeownership by excluding land cost from the purchase price; buyers secure a conventional first mortgage for the structure only.
