  • Income limits: Household income at or below 80% AMI based on household size. As of 2025: $92,880 for 1-2 persons, $106,812 for 3+ persons in Albany County.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase in Albany County. Homes in more rural areas of Albany County take precedence over those in urban areas.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for ACRHA Acquisition/Rehabilitation Grant

Step 1: Contact ACRHA at (518) 765-2425 or email acrhaadmin@acrha.org. Complete an approved homeownership education course. Meet asset limits. 51% of grant must be used for rehabilitation/repair and 49% for down payment and/or closing costs.
