- Income limits: Must meet first-time homebuyer and income requirements as defined by SC Housing and BJHT guidelines.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a primary residence in the past three years.
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase in Beaufort County or Jasper County, SC.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Beaufort Jasper Housing Trust Homebuyer Assistance
Step 1: Contact one of BJHT's four partner organizations for homebuyer assistance. Apply through an SC Housing participating lender and request BJHT-funded down payment assistance. Program is available on a first-come, first-served basis and requires an executed sales contract.
Notes
BJHT was established as a collaborative effort between eight local governments: Beaufort County, Jasper County, City of Beaufort, Town of Bluffton, Town of Hardeeville, Town of Hilton Head Island, Town of Port Royal, and Town of Yemassee. DPA is administered through CommunityWorks and other partner organizations. Anticipates over 40 new homeowners annually in Beaufort and Jasper counties.
