First-Time Homebuyer Programs in South Carolina

South Carolina offers several homebuyer assistance programs through SC Housing. The SC Housing Homebuyer Program provides first time buyers with a competitive fixed rate mortgage and up to $10,000 in forgivable down payment assistance. The Palmetto Home Advantage program serves both first time and repeat buyers with up to 4% of the loan amount in forgivable DPA and no sales price limit. Public service workers including teachers, nurses, law enforcement, firefighters, and veterans can access an additional $10,000 through the seasonal Palmetto Heroes Program. All SC Housing programs require a minimum 640 credit score and homebuyer education.
