  • Geographic restrictions: Must be a current BHA resident and must purchase a home within the City of Boston.

How to Apply for BHA First Home Program

Step 1: Must be a BHA tenant in good standing and in compliance with all Section 8 requirements. Meet minimum income, savings, credit score, and employment requirements. Submit an application through BHA.

This program is in its final year, ending in late 2026. Only available to current Boston Housing Authority residents. Since launch, the program has helped over 40 first-time homeowners.
