Up to $15,000 (0% interest deferred loan); or up to $12,000 calculated as 3.5% of purchase price through the BRA (Deferred Loan)
Zero-interest deferred loan repayable upon property transfer of ownership or loan refinancing.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Must meet HUD HOME Investment Partnership income limits for the Brockton area
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a single-family or two-family home in the City of Brockton.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Brockton First Time Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program
Step 1: Complete a homebuyer education course through NeighborWorks Housing Solutions (available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese). Get pre-approved for a mortgage. Find a home in Brockton. Apply through NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, which administers the program in partnership with the Brockton Redevelopment Authority. Contact NeighborWorks at 617-770-2227 ext. 165.
