How to Apply for Calcasieu Parish Section 8 Homeownership Program

Step 1: Must be a Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) participant or eligible applicant. Must be employed full-time for at least one year before homeownership assistance begins (elderly and disabled individuals are exempt). This program is specifically for current Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants transitioning to homeownership. Free homebuyer education classes are offered through the Calcasieu Parish Housing Counseling Agency in conjunction with Project Build a Future.
