Habitat builds and sells homes through affordable, no-profit mortgage loans to qualifying families.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Between 30% and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), with a target of 60% AMI or below
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Must live or work in New Hanover County, Pender County, or Duplin County for at least one year.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program
Step 1: Download and complete the application from the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity website, or call 910-762-4744 or email info@capefearhabitat.org. Applicants must complete 250-400 sweat equity hours and demonstrate ability to pay a mortgage through monthly payments toward closing costs or savings while in the program. Applications are reviewed within 30 days.
