Eligibility

  • Income limits: At or below 100% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years prior to closing.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase an existing home in Charles County, MD. New construction is excluded. Must have lived or worked full-time in Charles County continuously for at least 3 years.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Charles County SELP+ Down Payment Assistance

Step 1: You must first be approved for the Charles County SELP program. Contact the Charles County Housing Authority at 301-934-0119 to apply for both SELP and SELP+ simultaneously. Complete HUD-approved homebuyer education before applying.
