Homes are deed-restricted to remain affordable. Resale prices are controlled to maintain long-term affordability.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Household income must be below 80% of the area median income.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer. Exceptions apply for the Windemere Estates 55+ community, which has no first-time buyer requirement.
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a deed-restricted affordable home within Chelmsford, MA.
How to Apply for Chelmsford Affordable Housing Resale Program
Step 1: Contact the Chelmsford Housing Authority at 978-256-7425 ext. 10 or lottery@chelmsfordha.com to apply. Eligible applicants are placed on a wait list for homes in the affordable housing inventory including Lamplighter Green, Robin Hill Meadows, Deca Drive, Amelia Way, The Courtyard Condominiums, Windemere Estates, Glen Isle, The Residences at Stedman, Princeton Ridge, and Woodland Square.

Deed-restricted affordable housing resale program. Homes come up for resale periodically and are sold via lottery or wait list. Asset limit of $75,000 applies (except Windemere Estates 55+ community). Wait list placement based on date of application and household composition.
