Eligibility

  • Income limits: Qualified households with very low, low, moderate incomes and 121%-140% of AMI depending on strategy
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer who has not owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a property within Boca Raton municipal city limits.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for City of Boca Raton SHIP Purchase Assistance Program

Step 1: Applications can be obtained by calling the City of Boca Raton Community Improvement Division at 561-393-7756. Applications are accepted and processed on an ongoing basis pending availability of funding. Submit a complete application with all required documentation including proof of income, identification, and first mortgage pre-approval.

Funded through the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program. Funds can be used for down payment, principal reduction, eligible closing/prepaid cost assistance, and rehabilitation. 2025-26 NOFA released October 1, 2025.
