Up to $50,000 (Forgivable Loan)

Loans up to $14,999 are forgiven after 5 years of owner-occupancy. Loans from $15,000 to $50,000 are forgiven after 10 years of owner-occupancy.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income per HUD guidelines
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home within the last 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase within the City of Irving city limits.

How to Apply for City of Irving Down Payment Assistance Program

Step 1: Register for an account at the City of Irving application portal. Once registered, login and select Down Payment Assistance to begin the application process. Upload all required documents and submit. You must be approved by a City of Irving approved lender. Call (972) 721-4800 for application assistance.
