Home is placed in the Community Land Trust. The CLT purchases the underlying land and provides a 99-year renewable lease to the homebuyer, ensuring permanent affordability.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Maximum gross household income of 120% of Area Median Income, adjusted for household size. Minimum gross household income of $70,000.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Credit score minimum: 620
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a home within the City of Port St. Lucie. Must live and/or work in Port St. Lucie at time of application.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for City of Port St. Lucie Homebuyer Assistance Program

Step 1: Contact the City of Port St. Lucie Neighborhood Services Department at (772) 579-3927. Complete a Community Land Trust Orientation. Apply during open application periods. Must contribute a minimum of 1% of the home sales price. Meet partner lenders minimum credit score requirements.

Notes

Funded by a federal grant through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Four to six buyers are assisted per application cycle. Application periods are limited. Verify current cycle status with the city.
