- Income limits: Must be below New York State maximum income levels
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Hudson Valley region including Rockland, Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, and Ulster counties
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Community Housing Innovations Homeownership Grant
Step 1: Contact Community Housing Innovations at 845-330-3948 ext. 3004 or intake@communityhousing.org. Attend a free Grant Orientation and complete HUD-approved homebuyer education. Provide a 3% contribution of documented savings, 401K, or gifts. Qualify for a mortgage through a CHI Participating Lender.
Notes
Funded through the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC). Grant is split: 60% for acquisition costs (down payment and/or closing costs) and 40% for rehabilitation of the property.
