Assistance provided for up to 15 years for non-elderly/non-disabled households. No time limit for elderly or disabled participants.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Must meet Housing Choice Voucher Program income requirements
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the last 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be in Dauphin County, PA (outside the City of Harrisburg).
- Homebuyer education required: No
How to Apply for Dauphin County Housing Authority HCV Homeownership Program
Step 1: Must be a current Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant in Dauphin County. At least one adult family member must have been employed for one year prior to receiving homeownership assistance (waived for elderly/disabled). Contact the Housing Authority of the County of Dauphin to apply.
Notes
Only available to existing Housing Choice Voucher holders. Voucher subsidy is applied toward monthly mortgage payments. Enrollment in Family Self Sufficiency Program is encouraged but not required. Property must be outside the City of Harrisburg limits.
