Eligibility
- Income limits: Household income must fall between 35% and 80% of the area median income for Dorchester County. For a family of four, approximately $37,000 to $84,000.
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must demonstrate need for safe, decent, and affordable housing.
- Geographic restrictions: Must live and/or work in Dorchester County for at least one year.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes

Step 1: Applications are accepted periodically. Contact Dorchester Habitat for Humanity at (843) 473-7464 ext. 112 or email home@dorchesterhabitat.org. Visit their office at 101 Greyback Road, Summerville, SC. The program requires 425 hours of sweat equity per adult and includes one-on-one financial coaching.

Applicants must complete 425 hours of sweat equity, participate in financial education coaching and classes, and demonstrate ability to pay an affordable Habitat mortgage. Applications typically open seasonally.
