Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income must be below 80% of Area Median Income (approximately $85,350 for a family of 4 as of June 2025)
  • First-time buyer required: Yes Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
  • Geographic restrictions: Property must be located within Fort Worth city limits. Maximum sales price: $309,000 for existing homes or $329,000 for new construction.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for City of Fort Worth Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP)

Contact Fort Worth Neighborhood Services at 817-392-7540. You must complete a HUD-certified homebuyer workshop through Housing Channel (817-924-5091 or counseling@housingchannel.org). Buyers must work with an approved lender and contribute a minimum of $1,000 or 2% of the purchase price, whichever is less.
