- Income limits: Must meet income limits based on HUD Area Median Income guidelines for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metro area; typically up to 80% AMI
- First-time buyer required: Yes — First-time homebuyer or have not owned a home in the past three years
- Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a deed-restricted affordable home in Franklin, MA
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Town of Franklin Affordable Homeownership Program
Step 1: Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis when affordable units become available. Download the application from the Town of Franklin website or contact the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust. Metro West Collaborative Development serves as the lottery agent for sales and resales of deed-restricted units.
Notes
The Town of Franklin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust supports the construction and preservation of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. When deed-restricted homes become available, qualified buyers can purchase them at below-market prices. The Trust is funded through the Community Preservation Act and works with Metro West CD to administer the program.
