How to Apply for Habitat for Humanity of Berks County Homeownership Program

Step 1: Submit an application through Habitat for Humanity of Berks County. Complete 45 hours of financial education and 200 hours of sweat equity. The process typically takes 18-24 months from application to home dedication.

Habitat Berks homes are sold at market value and purchased through affordable low-interest, 30-year mortgages with payments based on income. Applicants must demonstrate need for affordable housing, fall within income guidelines (generally 30-80% AMI), and complete 45 hours of financial education plus 200 hours of sweat equity over a 12-24 month program period.
