  • Income limits: Must demonstrate financial need and ability to repay an affordable mortgage.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years (HUD definition).
  • Geographic restrictions: Serves the Capital District region including the City of Albany.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

Habitat partners with families to build or purchase homes at no profit, financed with affordable mortgages from local banking partners.

Has launched a 100 in 5 initiative with the Albany County Land Bank to build 100 new affordable homes in the City of Albany. Over 35 years of service in Albany, with more than 60% of partner families being Black homeowners.
