- Income limits: Household income between 30% and 75% of Area Median Income for Greensboro.
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Must have primary Greensboro area residency or permanent employment in the Greensboro area for at least one year.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro Homeownership Program
Step 1: Visit habitatgreensboro.org or call 336-232-0145 to register for an information session. Applicants must demonstrate need for adequate housing, have the ability to pay a Habitat mortgage, have been continuously employed for 12 months (including 6 months at current job), and be willing to provide 250 sweat equity hours.
Notes
Since 1987, Habitat Greensboro has served over 550 families. This is not a traditional DPA program — Habitat builds or renovates homes and sells them to qualifying families with affordable, zero-interest mortgages. The 250 sweat equity hours can include construction work, volunteering, and homebuyer education classes. Income must not exceed 75% AMI based on family size.
