Affordable mortgage structured so total monthly costs do not exceed 33% of gross monthly income.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income between 50% and 120% of Area Median Income (AMI) based on household size.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must be a first-time homebuyer as established by HUD.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase in New York City (through NYC Housing Lottery).
  • Homebuyer education required: No

How to Apply for Habitat for Humanity NYC Homeownership Program

Step 1: Apply through the NYC Housing Lottery when applications become available. Applicants are selected randomly through the lottery. Provide a cash down payment. Complete sweat equity hours as required by Habitat for Humanity.

Notes
