Affordable, long-term mortgage with no interest. Buyers contribute sweat equity hours toward the construction or renovation of their home.
Eligibility
- Income limits: Generally 50% to 80% of area median gross income
- First-time buyer required: No
- Geographic restrictions: Must have lived or worked in South Sarasota County (Osprey, Laurel, Nokomis, Venice, North Port, or Sarasota County side of Englewood) for at least 12 months.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes

Habitat South Sarasota has been building and renovating affordable homes since 1992. Applicants must demonstrate need for adequate housing, ability to pay the mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat. Free homeownership classes are offered covering budgeting, home maintenance, and insurance.
