How to Apply for Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside Homeownership Program
Step 1: Apply through the Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside website or attend a Hernando County info session. Participants must complete an education curriculum of 38 classes covering budgeting, home maintenance, and other topics. Must complete 350 to 450 sweat equity hours. A $500 closing cost contribution is required within the first week of approval, with total closing costs of $2,000.

Habitat expanded into Hernando County in April 2024 after being awarded the territory by Habitat for Humanity International. Builds single-family homes and townhomes primarily in Hernando and Pasco Counties. Must have reasonably good credit demonstrating ability to make regular payments.
