Must owner-occupy the home for a minimum of three years.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income must not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for the New Haven-Meriden MSA, adjusted for family size. Liquid assets after closing must not exceed $20,000.
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home previously or meet HUD first-time buyer definition.
  • Geographic restrictions: Must purchase a home located in the Town of Hamden.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Hamden CDBG Homebuyer Assistance Grant Program
