Up to $10,000 (up to $15,000 for residents who have lived in the HCRA for at least one year) (Forgivable Loan)

Eligibility
- Income limits: Low-to-moderate income
- First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home in the past 3 years.
- Geographic restrictions: Property must be purchased within the Homestead Community Redevelopment Agency (HCRA) area.
- Homebuyer education required: Yes
How to Apply for City of Homestead CRA First-Time Homebuyers Program
Step 1: Contact the City of Homestead Community Development and Affordable Housing Division for application details and current program availability. Applicants must complete a homebuyer education counseling course from any HUD-approved housing counseling agency.
Notes
Eligible properties include new or existing single-family homes or townhouses. The property must be purchased in the applicant name as a primary residence with homestead status. Current HCRA residents of at least one year receive an additional $5,000 (total $15,000). Funded through CRA and CDBG/SHIP funds.
