Up to $25,000 (covers up to 75% of required down payment and closing costs) (Deferred Loan)

If the home is sold within 36 months, the full assistance amount must be repaid. If sold after 36 months, 10% of sale proceeds (after costs) must be repaid to the Down Payment Assistance Fund.

Eligibility

  • Income limits: Household income at or below 120% of the Area Median Income for Duval County
  • Purchase price limit: $335,000
  • First-time buyer required: Yes — Must not have owned a home within the past 3 years. Must have lived in Duval County for at least 24 consecutive months.
  • Geographic restrictions: Home must be located within Jacksonville/Duval County.
  • Homebuyer education required: Yes

How to Apply for Jacksonville Down Payment Assistance Pilot Program

Step 1: Contact Jacksonville Housing Services at 904-255-8241. Complete a homeownership education course. You must have lived in Duval County for at least 24 consecutive months.

Notes

Funded through city general revenue. This program targets moderate-income buyers (up to 120% AMI) who may not qualify for the H2H program which requires 80% AMI or below.
