How to Apply for Jersey City Golden Neighborhood Homeownership Program (GNHP)
Step 1: Contact the Jersey City Division of Community Development at 201-547-6910 or email GNHP@jcnj.org. Must secure mortgage pre-approval and complete 8 hours of HUD-approved homebuyer education to receive a homeownership readiness certificate.
Notes
Awardees receive up to 10% of the home purchase price for down payment plus $10,000 toward closing costs, with a maximum subsidy of $150,000 per household. Program applications open periodically — check the city website for current application windows.
